America in 1970 was coming off two very tumultuous years filled with war, protests, a presidential election, bombings, and some very, very good music. The music of 1970 in some ways reflected the zeitgeist of the time, in particular Bridge Over Troubled Water by Simon and Garfunkel, and Let it Be by The Beatles.
